More jobs, services and new public spaces will be created thanks to the Andrews Labor Government's investment in suburban revitalisation projects including the Frankston Station Precinct revitalisation and Broadmeadows Town Centre.
Minister for Suburban Development Marlene Kairouz joined Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke today to announce the $3.5 million investment as part of the Victorian Budget 2019/20 that will breathe new life into public spaces and enhance the community for all to enjoy.
As part of this investment, the Labor Government will continue the infrastructure and community projects already underway as part of the Government's revitalisation program in Frankston and Broadmeadows.
This includes planning and upgrading pedestrian and cycling access to Frankston Station and public space improvements to Station Street Mall.
New community development initiatives that build on successful programs around youth engagement, response to substance abuse and place making events are also being developed.
The revitalisation program for Broadmeadows will deliver on key recommendations of the Broadmeadows Revitalisation Board, including master planning for the Broadmeadows city centre and completion of the second stage of the Meadowlink shared use path.
The Government will be looking for opportunities across other parts of metropolitan Melbourne to partner with local stakeholders on revitalisation projects that create vibrant spaces, improve infrastructure and facilitate access to community services.
