Girl serious after being found in backyard pool in South Hurstville

A child remains in a serious condition in hospital after being found unconscious in a backyard pool at South Hurstville, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the home on Culwulla Street, South Hurstville, about 5pm today after the three-year-old girl was pulled from an in-ground pool.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick in a serious but stable condition.

Police from St George Local Area Command investigating the incident, have been told the child was with her siblings shortly before she was found.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
