"Gizmo" taken from outside inner west cafe, NSW

Police have released CCTV footage as they investigate the theft of a dog from a cafe in Sydney’s inner west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police have been told about 2.30pm yesterday, "Gizmo", the Pomeranian, escaped from a home in Wareemba.

The dog then walked to a nearby cafe on the corner of Great North Road and Coranto Street.

Two men took the dog just before 3pm.

Police attached to Burwood Local Area Command have released CCTV footage of two men who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The two men depicted in the images have been described as of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance with a large build. One man is shown wearing a red shirt and shorts while the other man is shown wearing a blue, white and grey t-shirt with shorts. Both men are also shown wearing black sunglasses.

"Gizmo" has been described as a pocket Pomeranian, with beige fur, and was wearing a brown collar with a red tag.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
