Glen Waverley Civic Precinct Project Set For Start

We're about to start work to prepare for our exciting Glen Waverley Civic Precinct Project, with construction of an electrical substation enclosure and relocation of the Council back-up generator underway in the Glen Waverley library forecourt area.

The new substation, located close to the pedestrian entrance of Century City Walk, will support a reliable power supply for businesses and buildings in the Kingsway precinct.

You will still be able to enter businesses from Kingsway, with no changes to footpaths or parking along the busy street. Our Glen Waverley library and civic centre will remain open from all entrances, with some safety measures and fencing in place to keep people safe.

Access to Century City, from the forecourt entrance, will be limited but emergency exits retained.

The library forecourt, including some of the tables and chairs, umbrellas and planter boxes, will be out of bounds for the duration of the works - which are expected to start in early-February and be completed in July.

FIMMA Constructions will deliver the works for Council. The construction company and Council will be in regular contact with businesses nearby, to coordinate delivery times and to avoid disruptions.
