Glen Waverley Civic Precinct Site Establishment

pedestrians watch your step sign

Work on the $110 million Glen Waverley Civic Precinct project is gathering momentum with the builders, Kane Constructions, commencing establishment activities, including the erection of site hoarding around the site boundary.

These works are required to safely establish the construction site and provide a secure separation between the public area and the work zone.

What's happening?

  • Closure of the carpark outside the existing Glen Waverly Library and the Ibis Hotel building.
  • Site establishment and preparation works within and around the project boundary.
  • Delivery and installation of temporary construction hoarding along the Kingsway frontage.
  • Temporary closure of the Kingsway footpath directly adjacent to the site boundary, while hoarding is being erected.
  • Pedestrian management controls and directional signage will be put in place, advising alternative access around the closure area.

When is it happening?

Works are scheduled to start on Tuesday, 4 August and are expected to be completed on Monday 10 August (weather permitting). Work will be carried out 7am-6pm. If any work is needed outside these hours, it will be managed in accordance with the relevant approvals and permits.

How will it affect me?

  • Pedestrians will not be able to use the section of Kingsway footpath, adjacent to the site boundary, while the hoarding is being erected.
  • Temporary signage, barriers and traffic management controls will be in place to direct pedestrians safely around the work area.
  • There may be some increased construction activity, deliveries, traffic management, noise associated with installation works, and temporary changes to pedestrian movement along Kingsway.

Parking is available at council's nearby Bogong Car Park

Kane Constructions will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and maintain a safe environment for the public and project team. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these establishment works are carried out.
