The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will close the Glenbrook Precinct of the Blue Mountains National Park to vehicles from Monday 3 May to Thursday 10 June to upgrade visitor roads and fire trails.
The Glenbrook Precinct of the Blue Mountains National Park is home to natural swimming spots, Aboriginal rock art, walks and mountain biking close to Sydney.
Expert advice has recommended the precinct be closed to vehicles while dirt roads into the Euroka campground and to the Mt Portal lookout are sealed.
To minimise impact to the Glenbrook Village, the route for trucks transporting roading material into the national park will be from the Great Western Highway via Ross Street, Wascoe Street, Cowdery Street, Burfitt Parade and Bruce Road.
During this work from Wednesday 28 April there will be three trucks movements between 7 and 8am, then again between Noon and 2pm daily until late May, weather permitting.
These works are funded by the NSW Government to improve visitor experience and safe access for our fire fighters.
