Glenorchy Police target motor vehicle stealing, TAS

Police are targeting a recent and significant increase in motor vehicle burglaries in Hobart’s northern suburbs, Tasmania Police say.

The Glenorchy area has suffered in particular, with a number of matters reported in the area bordered by and including Tolosa Street and Chapel Street.

Property targeted and stolen during the motor vehicle burglaries includes cash, wallets, sunglasses and small electronics such as phones and laptops.

"It is disappointing that people are continuing to leave valuables exposed in vehicles in plain sight of thieves, and that on occasion vehicles are being left unlocked." Detective Acting Sergeant Ricki Eaves.

Glenorchy CIB are investigating the reports and seeking any information.
