It's the unlikely pairing of a fashion stalwart and one of Australia's most vibrant up and coming designers; now fashion aficionados and shoe enthusiasts can get their hands on the bold and colourful collection by John Fluevog and Australian designer, Rachel Burke.
A match made in fashion heaven, the two designers have used their respective talents to create three out-of-this-world boots – each part of the Attic family– as well as an equally stunning scarf.
Rachel's flair for vibrant patterns and designs was not lost on John, who was keen to partner with an Australian designer.
"I knew that teaming up with Rachel would be an exciting adventure. I also have a soft spot for Australia; it's a place I enjoyed visiting frequently prior to COVID," John said.
"Rachel's designs are tangible and mix-textured creations that project joy and cheer, which isn't dissimilar to our signature style. Like Rachel's creations, Fluevogs are also fashioned to give their wearer an instant confidence boost and the courage to take on the day.
"This collection is unapologetically different, and it connects the imagination of our youth with the confidence that comes with maturity. I'm really excited for Fluevogers far and wide to receive the same joy that we had while creating these shoes."
Known as sometimes grunge, sometimes retro, but always edgy, John's unconventional style is what initially attracted Rachel Burke to the collaboration.
"I've always appreciated John's daring and unique design choices; he has never worried about conforming to the norm but instead celebrates what sets us apart," Rachel said.
"I aim to inject the same magic and joy into people's everyday life through nostalgic and colourful designs."
The shoes, which will come in two different lengths (knee-height and ankle), will consist of a Neolite sole with lasered Fluevog artwork, metallic leather, glitter-encrusted leather and leather lining.
Not to be overshadowed, the 100% Mulberry silk scarf will feature one of Rachel's signature designs.
The Fluevog x Rachel Burke collection will be available for purchase online at Fluevog.com and at Fluevog stores everywhere.
