Police have charged two people after a disturbance at Vincent yesterday afternoon, 2 October.
It will be alleged shortly before 4pm, two boys were involved in an altercation with a 19-year-old man carrying a baseball bat in a car park off Vincent Street. The two boys each produced a knife. The males, who are all known to each other, left the area without further incident.
Police located a 19-year-old Vincent man a short time later and served him with a notice to appear for the charge of going armed so as to cause fear. He is expected appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on 28 October.
A 16-year-old Vincent boy has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act for going armed to cause fear and possession of a knife in a public place.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
