Going armed to cause fear charge in Meadowbrook, QLD

Logan police have charged a man after an alleged incident at a medical facility in Meadowbrook last night, Queensland Police say.

Around 9.30pm a man entered the Armstrong Road building and approached a male staff member. Following a brief conversation it will be alleged the man opened his jacket and displayed a handgun, which later turned out to be a replica.

The man was detained by staff members and nearby police, who happened to be at the facility, without incident and taken into custody.

No one was physically injured.

A 40-year-old Meadowbrook man has been charged with one count each of going armed so as to cause fear and driving over general alcohol limit. He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
