Golden Casket Telethon Launches with $620K Boost

The Lott

The Lott by Golden Casket has helped kick-off the Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles with a contribution of $620,000 towards life-saving research, care services, and equipment, ensuring all babies at Mater have the best possible start to life. The 2026 goal is to raise $10 million.

Since 1921, The Lott by Golden Casket has been a proud supporter of the Mater Hospital and the life changing research they do for the tiniest of humans, their mothers, and families.

We're proud to be a Presenting Partner of the Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles for a third year.

The donation will support Mater clinician and researcher Mrs Renee Muirhead with further testing of a gentle medication to help babies remain calm and settled during eye examinations. If the clinical trial is successful, the finding could be rapidly adopted into everyday practice at Mater and shared more broadly, helping to improve the experience of care for thousands of babies born prematurely each year.

Mater Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Thomas said this year's donation from The Lott by Golden Casket would ensure Mater continues to provide world-leading research for Queensland's most vulnerable babies.

"Support like this enables us to invest in life-saving equipment and support world-leading research at Mater - research that ultimately benefits babies across Australia and the globe," said Andrew Thomas, CEO of Mater Foundation.

Through the kindness and support of our community, Mater clinicians and researchers can continue to improve outcomes for the tiniest and most vulnerable patients. You can get involved with the Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles on Saturday, 18 April with coverage from 5pm on Channel9 or 9Now.

The Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles will also share other incredible stories of kids and their families, shining a light on the industry-leading care that Mater provides.
