Goulburn Mulwaree Council proudly hosted a Citizenship Ceremony on Thursday, 23 July 2026, officially welcoming six new Australian citizens from the United States, United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.
Mayor Nina Dillon, alongside Councillor Keith Smith, personally presented citizenship certificates to each recipient and extended their congratulations as they marked this important milestone in their lives.
Mayor Dillon said Australian citizenship is an important milestone and a proud moment for those who choose to make Australia their home.

"Our newest citizens bring with them diverse experiences, perspectives and skills that enrich our community. Goulburn Mulwaree is stronger because of its diversity, and we are delighted to welcome these new citizens and recognise their commitment to Australia.
"On behalf of Council and the wider community, I congratulate each recipient and wish them every success as they embark on this new chapter as Australian citizens."
The ceremony recognised the contribution that people from diverse backgrounds make to the local community and highlighted the importance of citizenship in strengthening Australia's multicultural society.
Following the ceremony, attendees gathered for a morning tea, providing new citizens and their families with an opportunity to celebrate the occasion together.
