Government misses opportunity for a fairer NZ

Today's announcement that the Government willnot be supporting a Capital Gains tax is "hugely disappointing" saysCTU President Richard Wagstaff.

"Working people need a fairer New Zealand,a place where we can all thrive. Ensuring that everyone contributes their shareis a key part of that. A fairer tax system remains part of the solution inbuilding the country we want New Zealand to be."

"If this Government wants to be takenseriously on making lives better, then they need to make decisions which stopfavouring businesses and property owners over working New Zealanders. This is aclear choice which the government has now failed on. We had hoped forbetter," CTU President Richard Wagstaff said.
