Gov't Seeks Projects to Boost Accountability: Proposals Invited

The British Embassy in Tirana is seeking to work with international and local civil society organisations in a new project to strengthen the work of the Albanian Parliament. Specifically, the aim is to create legal frameworks to better scrutinise programmes, policies and expenditure enacted by government and to facilitate public participation and discussion over all matters of societal concern.

Through the proposed project, we aim to strengthen Parliamentary democracy and improve government scrutiny. The proposed theory of change is designed to address the Parliament's key challenges and is developed based on the availability of evidence, literature and input from different stakeholders operating in the country.

Background

This project is funded by the UK Government's Freedom and Resilience Programme 2022 to 2025, managed by the FCDO. The project will be overseen and supported by British Embassy staff in Tirana, Albania.
