Grab coffee and have chat with Council

City of Whittlesea residents will now have the chance to sip a latte, down a cappuccino or enjoy a long black with the decision-makers at Council as part of a new Coffee with Council program coming to a café near you.

A mix of representatives including Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson, Administrators Peita Duncan and Chris Eddy, CEO Craig Lloyd and senior members of staff will be hosting regular informal drop-in sessions at coffee shops around the municipality to provide opportunities for residents to talk one-on-one about issues that are important to them.

Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said Coffee with Council provided an easy and accessible way for the community to chat with key decision-makers and to have their voices heard.

"It's a great privilege to do the job we do at the City of Whittlesea and with it comes a responsibility which we take very seriously," she said.

"While we are often out and about at official events, Coffee with Council is an informal opportunity for us to take the time to pause and to listen to our community, and what better way to do that than over a hot (or cold) drink.

"There is something time honoured about the tradition of sitting down together to have a cuppa and a chat. We hope this format really suits our community and helps makes it easier for residents and businesses to talk to Council.

"We would like to invite people to drop-in and have a chat with us about what's important to them in the City of Whittlesea and to share their ideas and aspirations."
