Graduation of Firefighter Recruit Squad 42

Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service congratulates the members of Firefighter Recruit Squad 42 who graduated this evening.

The 12-member squad has completed an intense 17-week training course that included road crash rescue, wildfire and urban fire, HAZMAT response, search and rescue and many technical skills that will help them to keep Territorians and visitors safe in the future, Northern Territory Police say.

In a ceremony at Darwin Fire Station, the recruits graduated in front of an audience including Her Honour the Administrator of the Northern Territory the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AM, Acting Chief Minister Nicole Manison, Commissioner of Police and CEO Fire and Emergency Services Reece P Kershaw APM, senior NT Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services officers and of course family and friends of the squad.

Four graduates are being posted to Alice Springs Fire Station, and eight will take up positions around Darwin.
