Grants available for community reactivation

Community Reactivation Grants of up to $2000 are now available to community organisations, clubs and groups who are experiencing hardship as a result of forced closure or reduced operations due to COVID-19.

The new grants program aims to help community groups get back on their feet after an undoubtedly difficult period and encourage re-engagement and increase participation in a COVID-safe way.

Mayor Cr Laurie Evans OAM recognised our local organisations have had it tough this year.

"Bayside's varied clubs and groups play a big role in what makes our municipality such a special place," Cr Evans said.

"They are key to keeping our residents engaged but unfortunately due to COVID-19 and the associated restrictions, many of our groups have faced unforeseen hardship."

"We've allocated $100,000 in funding for the Community Reactivation Grants to support our community groups return bigger and better than before."

The Community Reactivation Grant can be used to support communication, connection or reconnection with members; expand the reach of new and existing programs to new audiences; and to purchase consumables, minor equipment or furniture.

Applications are assessed on a first come- first served basis and turned around within two weeks to provide prompt support. The Community Reactivation Grants are available until the fund runs out.
