Grants for COVID-safe NAIDOC Week events

Bayside not-for-profit community groups are invited to apply for grants of up to $1000 to host COVID-safe events to celebrate this year's NAIDOC Week.

NAIDOC Week celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within their local communities.

Usually held in July, this year's NAIDOC week is being held from November 8-15 2020 in response to the impacts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Community groups such as kindergartens, scout groups and community centres are encouraged to consider running a COVID-safe celebration.

You might like to run an online art session with an Indigenous artist or perhaps an online session to talk about local Indigenous history.

There are some fabulous ideas on how to celebrate NAIDOC week on the NAIDOC week website.

Applying community groups must consider current government restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic prior to submitting an application. The most up to date information regarding current restrictions can be found on the DHHS website.

Grants are open now.
