Grass fire at Eden Hills

Police are investigating a deliberately lit grass fire last night at Eden Hills.

About 11.20pm on Thursday 19 October police together with CFS and MFS attended Shepherds Hill Recreation Park to reports of a grass fire.

Luckily fire crews managed to bring the fire under control quickly and there was no damage to property or any injuries.

Residents from nearby Springwood Close were evacuated for their safety.

Witnesses reported seeing fireworks prior to the fire starting.

Crime Scene Investigators will attend the scene this morning.

Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV in the area or dashcam of anyone travelling through the area at the time to contact Crime Stoppers on line at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or on 1800 333 000.

The public are urged to be vigilant to the danger posed by bushfires and to report any suspicious activity in fire danger areas to the police assistance line at the time on 131 444.
