Green Waste Update

Kiama Council

Tree fall following overnight storm

Kiama Council's free green waste drop off has proven popular with local residents needing to dispose of debris from last week's storm.

Council's Minnamurra Waste and Recycling Facility has so far received approximately 100 tonnes of green waste in the first three days of the drop off.

Our waste services team, who opened up all weekend to assist with the operation, has seen approximately 330 trailer loads come over the weighbridge.

The team has thanked residents for observing COVID safety measures during the drop off, including wearing masks and unloading their own material.

The free drop off continues today and wraps up tomorrow (Tuesday 31 August).

The drop off allows local residents to dispose of two ute or trailer loads each. Trucks are not permitted.

Please bring your proof of residency when dropping off.

A reminder the household bulky waste drop-off planned for September has been postponed in line with directions from the NSW Government.

As with previous postponements of this event, will are providing a longer drop off period for our next event in March.

We apologise for the inconvenience.
