Greens Aim High For Sake Of People And Planet

Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand

Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson has set out her party's ambitions to be a leading force in the next Government at the party's Annual General Meeting in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington today.

"We're not here to just lead the opposition, we are here because we want to lead the next Government, the most progressive Government Aotearoa has seen," says Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson.

"Real power lies with us, the people. When we come together - grounded in care for each other and the whenua, and strengthened by diversity - real change can happen.

"To have that chance of changing this system, we've got to be prepared to work for it. Nothing is going to change unless we come together.

"We are all connected, we have to work together. We have to prioritise the health and resilience of the environment to strengthen the health and resilience of people.

"Make no mistake, we're in a fight for our lives, and for the life of this planet.

"Let's demand better and take ownership of our future. What we do now will determine the kind of lives we are able to leave for our mokopuna - nothing could be more important," says Marama Davidson.
