Grievous bodily harm at Alexandra Hills, QLD

A man has been charged following investigations into an alleged unlawful wounding incident at Alexandra Hills last night, Queensland Police say.

Around 11.15pm, it will be alleged a 26-year-old man was a guest at a home in McMillan Road consuming alcohol with a number of other people.

A short time later, a man who lived at the address returned home after work, when it will be alleged a verbal altercation occurred between the pair.

It will further be alleged the altercation escalated and turned physical, with the 26-year-old producing a knife.

As a result, the 24-year-old resident sustained a serious injury and lost the top of one finger requiring him to be transported to a Brisbane hospital for treatment.

The 26-year-old man fled the scene and was located by police at a Capalaba address and arrested.

He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.
