Grievous Bodily Harm Charge At Gympie

Police have charged a 49-year-old man in relation to an alleged wounding incident in Gympie last night, June 21.

It will be alleged at approximately 6.20pm, an altercation occurred at a Lawrence Street property between two men who are known to each other.

A short time later, a 50-year-old man was allegedly stabbed.

He sustained serious injuries and was transported to Gympie Hospital before being airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

A 49-year-old Gympie man was taken into custody at the scene and charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, June 22.

Investigators are appealing anyone with information to come forward.
