Grievous Bodily Harm Charge At Mount Isa

Police have charged a boy following an alleged serious assault in Mount Isa on 20 June.

It will be alleged at 7.35pm, a 16-year-old boy sustained serious injuries following an altercation involving another child at the Mount Isa Showgrounds.

The injured boy was transported to Mount Isa Hospital before being flown to Townsville University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear before the Mount Isa Children's Court on June 22.

Investigations are continuing.
