Grievous bodily harm charge at Scarborough, QLD

Police commenced an investigation after a man presented to Redcliffe Hospital this morning with a serious eye injury, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that around 1am, two men were involved in a physical altercation in a unit complex on Mein Street at Scarborough.

It will be alleged one man struck the other in the in the face, just above the left eye, with a piece of timber.

A 44-year-old injured man left the house and attended Redcliffe Hospital for treatment of a significant injury to his left eye.

He has since been transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment.

A 39-year-old Kippa Ring man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.
