Grievous bodily harm charge in Beenleigh, QLD

A man has been charged after another man was assaulted with a machete at a Beenleigh house overnight, Queensland Police say.

Shortly before 9pm, police attended a Chapman Drive address where they located a 64-year-old injured man.

Investigations suggest a man known to the occupant attended the address, assaulted the man with the machete causing an injury to his left arm.

The man sustained non-life threatening injures and was taken to the Princess Alexandria Hospital for treatment.

A man was located at a Mount Warren Park address a short time later and arrested.

The 44-year-old man has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
