Grievous bodily harm charge in Landsborough, QLD

Detectives have charged a 26-year-old man with grievous bodily harm following the alleged violent assault of a 45-year-old man in Landsborough early this morning., Queensland Police say

It will be alleged that around 4.45am, the man, who was residing at the residence at the time, struck the other man with a hammer while he slept.

Both men are then alleged to have become involved in a struggle with the 45-year-old removing the hammer from the other man’s hand.

He was then able to get to a nearby residence where police and emergency services were called.

Police arrived a short time later and arrested the 26-year-old who was found walking down the roadway.

A 26-year-old Landsborough man was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.
