Grievous Harm Charges in Rockhampton

A woman has been charged following a series of alleged violent incidents at a Rockhampton shopping centre yesterday, 25 August.

Police were called around 2pm to reports of a woman allegedly causing a disturbance and threatening members of the public at the Yaamba Road shopping centre.

The woman is accused of spitting on five people, including a 73-year-old woman and a 32-year-old mother who was with her 12-week-old baby.

It is also alleged she damaged a vehicle belonging to one of the victims and assaulted another person causing bodily harm injuries.

She is accused of then spitting on a police officer while being taken into custody.

A 38-year-old Rockhampton woman was charged with five counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm or transmit serious disease.

Police opposed bail and she will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today, 26 August.
