Griffith City Council has adopted two important strategies that will shape how our city grows and prospers in the years ahead, the Griffith Housing Strategy and the Griffith Economic Development Strategy 2025–2030.
These strategies are about making sure Griffith remains a great place to live, work, and invest. They provide a clear plan to support housing needs and strengthen our local economy so that our community continues to thrive.
The Griffith Economic Development Strategy 2025–2030 sets out a roadmap to boost local business, attract investment and create opportunities for residents. It focuses on:
- Positioning Griffith as a premier destination to live, visit, and invest.
- Supporting a skilled and resilient workforce.
- Driving growth through innovative and thriving industries.
This strategy was shaped by community input through forums, surveys, and public exhibition, as well as an independent economic health check. Your feedback helped guide the priorities.
Council has also adopted the Griffith Housing Strategy, which ensures we have the right mix of homes for our growing community. It provides a clear pathway for future residential development so that:
- Housing supply meets demand.
- A diverse range of housing options is available.
- Growth is sustainable and supports liveability.
Independent experts reviewed the data to make sure the strategy reflects real needs and future trends.
Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said these strategies are about securing Griffith's future.
"By planning ahead, we're building a stronger, more resilient community that can meet housing needs and drive economic growth for years to come," he said.
"These plans are about creating a city that offers opportunities, supports families, and remains a vibrant, welcoming place for everyone."
