Groom residents planning to vote by post in the division's 28 November by-election are being urged by the Australian Electoral Commission to act now.
The Acting Australian Electoral Officer for Queensland, Adrian McCabe, said people needing to apply for a postal ballot were running out of time.
"The message is clear - if you need a postal ballot, act now," Mr McCabe said.
"The deadline for applications is 6pm AEST on Wednesday 25 November, which is quite close to by-election day.
"The earlier you apply, the better chance we have of getting a ballot paper to you in time."

People who have already received their postal voting pack in the mail are also being encouraged to complete it quickly.
"If you've already applied for and received your ballot paper, please complete and post it back to the AEC as soon as possible," Mr McCabe said.
As of 16 November, more than 12,600 postal vote applications had been received in Groom.
