Residents in the Macedon Ranges are invited to have their say on a range of important initiatives, with several community consultations now open through Council's engagement platform, Your Say.
Council is seeking feedback on several policies, programs and opportunities that will help guide decision-making and shape services across the shire.
Current consultations include:
- Kerbside Collection and Associated Services Charge Policy - informing how waste and recycling services are delivered and funded into the future (closes Thursday 16 April)
- Youth Council EOIs - inviting young people to join the new Youth Council, to share ideas and influence decisions (closes Friday 17 April)
- Public Art Policy - guiding how public art is planned, delivered and reflects local identity, culture and place (closes 1 May)
Mayor Kate Kendall said community participation is vital in shaping the future of the Macedon Ranges.
"Your input is so essential to making sure our policies, programs and services reflect what matters most to you," she said.
"Our public arts initiatives, launch of Youth Council and core services like the Charge Policy need your input. Don't forget there are weekly opportunities to connect in person through our Meet the Mayor sessions, where you can ask questions share concerns and ideas."
Council also acknowledges strong community interest in several recent consultations and confirms that these projects are continuing to progress, including:
The Kyneton Skatepark project - Includes a second round of community consultation and a concept design workshop scheduled for April. These activities ensure community members have continued opportunities to share their perspectives and contribute to the development of the project.
Riddells Creek Recreation Reserve Master Plan - Valuable feedback from an initial round of consultation held in February 2026 is continuing to be reviewed and will inform the development of a Draft Issues and Opportunities Paper, due to be consulted on in May 2026.
Proposed bridge naming: Christine Walker Footbridge - Submissions received in relation to this proposal, to rename the new footbridge over Willimigongon Creek on Clarke Street in Mount Macedon in honour of late Councillor Christine Walker, are being considered internally. If the proposal is endorsed, it will be lodged with Geographic Names Victoria for determination by the Registrar.
