Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged an alleged gunman over a shooting at a kebab shop in Sydney's west last year.
Just after 1.10pm on Monday 16 June 2025, officers from Auburn Police Area Command were called to South Parade, Auburn, after two men wearing face coverings entered a kebab shop and fired multiple shots.
The pair then fled the scene in a dark blue Audi Q7 displaying cloned numberplates.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated three people at the scene for gunshot wounds before they were taken to hospital.
A 26-year-old man suffered wounds to his shoulder and arm, a 47-year-old woman was shot multiple times in the torso, and a 25-year-old man was shot in the face.
All three have since been released from hospital; however, the 47-year-old woman and the 25-year-old man are expected to experience long-term complications as a result of their injuries.
Three cars were subsequently found burnt out on Wigram Street in Harris Park, Hilltop Road in Merrylands and Gerald Street in Greystanes.
Crime scenes were established at all relevant locations, and the matter was referred to Taskforce Falcon for investigation under Strike Force Caljie.
Following extensive inquiries, about 12pm yesterday (Friday 28 August 2026) strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – arrested a 31-year-old man in Narwee.
He was taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with:
- Shoot at with intent to murder (three counts),
- Acquire pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order
- Possess unauthorised pistol
- Use unauthorised pistol
- Acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order
- Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indicatable offence
- Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner
- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and
- Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 10 today (Saturday 29 August 2026).
Detectives have confirmed the second alleged shooter died overseas last year.
