Guns found in Thirlmere

A man has been charged with firearm offences after police allegedly located firearms during a search at a home in Thirlmere, Wollondilly Shire, over the weekend, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 12.30pm (21 January 2017), police attended Westbourne Avenue, Thirlmere where a search of the home was conducted.

Police will allege they located two air rifles. All items were seized for forensic examination.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Narellan Police Station.

He was charged with possess unauthorised firearm x 2, and not keep firearm safely.

The man was refused bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court today.
