· North West property access dispute has dragged on long enough

· Dispute swept under the carpet due to Legislative Council elections

Primary Industries Minister Guy Barnett must intervene to resolve a property access dispute involving the family of the Liberal Member for Montgomery.

Labor Member for Braddon, Shane Broad, said the issue had dragged on long enough.

"Landholders Stephen and Fiona Austin have been locked in an ongoing dispute with this family over maintaining access to the road to their Howth property and it has caused them considerable distress," Dr Broad said.

"After months of delays, they were told by Crown Land Services there would be some progress on their application for 'right of way' within two weeks, but five weeks later and they are yet to hear a thing.

"Stephen and Fiona just want to be able to access their property without having to tackle a series of gates and other obstacles.

"We want assurances that the Liberal member has not interfered in this process with Crown Land Services.

"I am sure the Liberals just want to sweep this dispute under the carpet until the Legislative Council elections are done and dusted.

"It is clear that Crown Land Services is incapable of resolving this matter and it is time Minister Barnett intervened to sort this dispute out once and for all."
