Greater Shepparton City Council has welcomed a $2 million Victorian Government investment through the Trunk Infrastructure Fund, which will help unlock the next stage of development at GV Link Enterprise Park to support future jobs, investment and economic growth across the region.
The funding will support the delivery of critical enabling infrastructure required to service Stage 2 of the precinct, ensuring future industrial lots are development-ready and able to attract new business investment.
The announcement follows Council's recent endorsement of a pathway forward for Stage 2, which includes progressing detailed design works and undertaking an expression of interest for the remaining lots in Stage 2.
Mayor, Councillor Geoff Akers, said the funding was a major vote of confidence in GV Link Enterprise Park and Greater Shepparton's economic future.
"We thank the Hon. Michaela Settle and the Victorian Government for this investment which will help accelerate the next stage of development at GV Link Enterprise Park, strengthening Greater Shepparton's position as one of regional Victoria's leading freight, logistics and industrial hubs," he said.
"Council recently endorsed a pathway forward for Stage 2, recognising its importance in delivering future industrial land supply and creating opportunities for investment, business expansion and job creation across our region.
"This funding is a critical piece of the puzzle in bringing Stage 2 of GV Link Enterprise Park to fruition. With demand for industrial land continuing to grow, this investment will help ensure GV Link Enterprise Park is well positioned to capitalise on future opportunities and attract new investment into our region."
The Victorian Government funding complements Council's commitment to progressing detailed design works for Stage 2, which will inform infrastructure requirements, project staging, costs and delivery timeframes. Council will also undertake an Expression of Interest process for the remaining Stage 2 lots to better understand market demand and ensure future land releases align with industry needs and investment opportunities.
Cr Akers said the project would play an important role in supporting Greater Shepparton's continued growth.
"GV Link Enterprise Park has long been recognised as a project of regional and state significance, offering exceptional connections to major road and rail freight networks and supporting our region's role as a key economic driver for northern Victoria," he said.
"This funding will help advance the infrastructure required to support the precinct's next phase of development and ensure it is well positioned to attract investment, create jobs and support long-term economic prosperity for our community."
Stage 1 of GV Link Enterprise Park, including a four-lot industrial subdivision, roundabout upgrade at the intersection of Toolamba and Simson Roads and service connections to the site, was officially opened on 28 August 2026.
Stage 2 will build on this foundation, delivering additional industrial land and creating further opportunities for industry growth, freight and logistics investment, and employment across Greater Shepparton and the wider Goulburn Valley region.
