Hadfield armed robbery

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery which occurred in Hadfield on Sunday evening.

Investigators have been told at least three men attended a supermarket on North Street about 8.45pm.

One man entered the premises, threatened two attendants with a firearm and demanded cash.

A struggle ensued and the firearm discharged.

The attendants then held the offender until police arrived while the accomplices fled the scene.

One of the victims suffered a cut to his head while the offender was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Armed Crime Squad detectives are currently on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
