Haier Resumes Heat Pump Dryer Safety Repairs

UK Gov

OPSS has confirmed that Haier can begin an updated corrective action programme to address a fire safety risk that may not have been fixed by an earlier repair.

Electrical manufacturer Haier is to restart its programme of corrective action for integrated heat pump tumble dryers. From early September, Haier will contact customers whose machines had previously been repaired to arrange a new safety modification.

OPSS told Haier to halt its initial repair programme because of concerns the modification was still unsafe. Following a review of Haier's updated modification by OPSS, the company has been informed it can resume its programme and begin contacting consumers once again.

Affected brands include Candy, Baumatic, Caple, Haier, Hoover, Lamona, Iberna and Montpellier.

OPSS published Product Safety Reports in May 2025 warning consumers of the risk of fire in certain models and recommending affected consumers seek a repair from the company.

Consumers who have one of the brands of heat pump tumble dryer listed below should use the links to check whether their model is affected and contact the company if necessary.
