Have a say on two reserve names in Lidcombe

The Geographical Names Board is seeking community feedback on a proposal by the City of Parramatta Council to name two reserves in the suburb of Lidcombe.

Chair of the Geographical Names Board Narelle Underwood said the proposed names are Osprey Park and Little Eagle Green.
Osprey Park is proposed for a reserve on the south-western side of Edwin Flack Avenue, named after the Eastern Osprey (Pandion cristatus), a large bird of prey that inhabits coastal and wetland areas.
Little Eagle Green is proposed for a reserve on the eastern side of Uhrig Road, named after the Little Eagle (Hieraaetus morphnoides), a medium size bird of prey that inhabits woodland and forests.
Both species are listed as vulnerable under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and are recorded nearby in Sydney Olympic Parklands.
Mrs Underwood said the board is encouraging community
