Have your say on suburb boundary amendment in Lake Macquarie lga

The Geographical Names Board is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Lake Macquarie City Council to amend existing address locality boundaries in its local government area.

Chair of the Geographical Names Board Narelle Underwood said feedback is being sought on the proposal to amend the suburb boundaries of Edgeworth, Holmesville and Barnsley.
"We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to provide their feedback on the proposed locality boundary amendment", Mrs Underwood said.
"It is important that place names reflect the character and history of the local area and community."
A new subdivision is being planned that straddles the suburbs of Edgeworth and Holmesville. The boundary amendment will allow the properties within the subdivision to be wholly within Edgeworth.
In addition, there are several properties in Barnsley proposed to be in Holmesville. Currently these properties do not have access from Barnsley as they are separated by Slatey Creek.
Details of the proposal on map GNB3506-7-A can be viewed, and submissions lodged on the Geographical Names Board's website.
Alternatively, written submissions may be mailed to the Secretary, Geographical Names Board, 346 Panorama Ave, Bathurst, NSW 2795.
The closing date for submissions is 12 September 2021.
