Hawkesbury Council Exhibits Draft Policy on Staff Interaction

Council chambers - webCouncil is inviting community members to view and comment on Council's Draft Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy which is on public exhibition at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au from Wednesday, 20 September until Wednesday, 18 October 2023.

In April 2022, the Office of Local Government released a Model Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy (Model Policy). The Model Policy contains more detailed provisions concerning roles and responsibilities of Councillors and staff they interact with, and Councillor requests for information.

The current Policy has been reviewed and amended to conform substantially with the Model Policy, and those amendments are detailed in the Business Paper of the Ordinary meeting of 12 September which is available on Council's website at www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/your-council/council-meetings-and-agendas/business-papers

A Draft Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy has been prepared incorporating these amendments and it is recommended that the Draft Policy be placed on public exhibition.

A hard copy of the Draft Policy can also be viewed at Council's Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm during the exhibition period.

Council will receive online submissions via www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au
