The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), in conjunction with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), is planning another hazard reduction burn in Myall Lakes National Park, near Nerong Village, Saturday 7 August 2021.
The burn will improve safety for the Park and Nerong Village reducing risk from summer bushfires.
Fire crews will be working on roads throughout Nerong Village during the burn as well as during mop-up and patrol over subsequent days.
Motorists are reminded to use caution and drive to conditions on roads in the area.
This latest burn in Myall Lakes National Park follows the Southern Boundary hazard reduction burn north of Hawks Nest last Sunday and one last month at Treachery Beach near Seal Rocks.
The burns aim to provide fuel reduced zones to help protect the park, neighbours and the community.
All burns across NSW will continue to be coordinated with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) to ensure the impact on the community, including from smoke, are assessed at a regional level.
