The Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee has approved a development application for partial demolition, new outbuilding (shed) and partial change of use to sport and recreation.

The City of Hobart proposal involved demolishing an existing outbuilding, constructing a new one, changing the use of the rear section of the property from residential to sport and recreation, and using the new outbuilding to store maintenance materials for nearby sportsgrounds.

Officer level development applications approved between 2 March and 13 March 2026

Between Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee meetings, the City's Planning Officers are busy reviewing a range of residential and commercial development applications for Hobart.

Since the last meeting, 11 development applications delegated to council officers were also approved while 20 development applications are currently being advertised.

A reminder that the City has a planner on duty during office hours which members of the community can call through our Customer Services to check to see whether any development or work to a garden will require planning approval.
