Healing Ceremony 2023

Healing land, spirit and people.

The City of Stonnington will host its second Healing Ceremony with Traditional Custodians, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, following the Citizenship Ceremony on Thursday, 26 January 2023.

The ceremony includes:

  • Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and speech by Wurundjeri Elder, Aunty Diane Kerr
  • Dance performances by Nhanbu Togip dance troupe and Indigenous Outreach Projects (IOP) hip-hop crew
  • BBQ lunch.

The ceremony supports Council's Reconciliation journey and provides an opportunity for the community to learn about what the day means to Traditional Custodians.

The City of Stonnington recognises the valuable contributions made to our community by all people of the East Kulin Nations and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
