Healing place to wash away negativity

During the International Year of Indigenous Languages we are highlighting an ABC initiative that looks at the meaning behind place names.

Clarence Wyles Jnr is a ranger and proud Warrgamay man who follows the path of his ancestors and has a deep connection to Country

Clarence takes us to Broadwater, in New South Wales, to share his knowledge of the significance of this healing place where his 'old people' made camp and washed away negativity by swimming in the water.

The 'This Place' project invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to create a short video about a place name, and the story behind it.
