Health employee stabbed; woman arrested in Camperdown

A woman has been arrested and is being questioned by police after stabbing a health employee in Sydney’s inner west today, NSW Police say.

About 11.30am (Monday 10 September 2018), emergency services were called to Missenden Road – outside a café – after reports a 34-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck.

She was treated at the scene, before attending Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where she is expected to undergo surgery.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command attended and arrested a 46-year-old woman.

She was taken to Newtown Police Station and is assisting police with inquiries.

Police are speaking with witnesses and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The pair were known to each other.
