Helicopter rescue of quad bike rider – West Sandy Point, TAS

At 10:30am Tasmania Police Search and Rescue were notified of an injured quad bike rider in sand dunes near West Sandy Point, Tasmania Police say.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated and was able to land nearby. Two Intensive Care Paramedics treated the 55 year old Beaconsfield man on the scene before he was winched in a stretcher into the helicopter.

The man was flown to the Launceston General Hospital in a stable condition.
