Help at home is music to Russill's ears

Two years ago, Russill Ansell had a major heart attack and was not expected to survive it.

Carinity Home Care helped Russill's transition home from hospital. Russill was so impressed by the care provided that he chose Carinity as his home care service provider.

Lifestyle Carers from Carinity Home Care Ipswich continue to assist Russill and his wife Kathy with domestic duties, shopping and meal preparation, gardening and lawn mowing, and transport to medical appointments.

"I had a heart attack and I was quite unable to help myself. Carinity Home Care provide me with transport to hospital to check my pacemaker every six months and they took me to Brisbane to get my eyes fixed," Russill says.

"They come once a week to do the shopping and they do meals up for me and for Kathy. As well as helping with the shopping and cooking meals they also clean the floors and make our beds."

Russill, whose Lifestyle Carers also assist him with physiotherapy and podiatry appointments, loves that he can have all of his services delivered or coordinated by the one service provider.

The Ansells appreciate that Carinity Home Care Ipswich takes the pressure off them so Russill can get back to doing what he loves best - attending church, playing keyboard and watching his favourite television program, NCIS.

"I'm happy with the services that Carinity Home Care provide. They've very good. I probably couldn't get by without their help," Russill says.

The cat lover also enjoys singing at aged care communities and retirement villages around Ipswich - his favourite song to sing is How Great Thou Art - and is looking forward to again singing Christmas carols with the Leichhardt Baptist Singers.
