This is a joint media release between the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia are seeking public assistance to help locate four year-old child, Thomas Alexander Bakyrey, born on 8 December 2014.
Thomas is believed to be in the company of his mother Sarah Elizabeth Tate born on 17 September 1980.
Thomas' father, Sergiy Bakyrey, last saw his son at Kurralta Park, South Australia in October 2018. Since this time, he has been trying to find his son and return him to his care.
The location of Thomas and Sarah is unknown. However, it is believed they are no longer residing in South Australia and may have travelled to Victoria.
Ms Tate is 38 years-old, has long brown hair which is sometimes dyed in shades of red. She wears glasses and is approximately 163cms tall and of a small build. The mother's car, a white 2017 Toyota Rav 4 with South Australian registration S785BXR, was last seen at Bordertown, South Australia in late February 2019.
A Recovery Order has been issued by the Federal Circuit Court of Australia authorising all members of the AFP, State and Territory Police Forces, the Marshal of the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia to recover the child. At this time, the Recovery Order has not been executed.
By releasing this information, AFP acting Manager National Response Operations Paul Hopkins hopes someone in the community will recognise Thomas or Sarah and contact the authorities.
