There's still time to cast your vote and help Kiama claim the NSW Top Tourism Town title for a third year running.
Voting for the 2026 NSW Top Tourism Town Awards is open until midnight Sunday, 3 May. If Kiama pulls off the win again, our town earns a place in the NSW Tourism Awards Hall of Fame - a special milestone for a small town with a big reputation.
Kiama is going head-to-head with some fierce competition, including our northern neighbours Shellharbour and Wollongong, along with Ballina, Coffs Harbour, Forbes, Moree and Orange, in the category for towns with populations over 5,000.
Wollongong, in particular, has its eyes set on the prize, and has launched a determined campaign to steal the crown, which only strengthens our resolve to defend Kiama's status!
We're proud of our reputation as a small town with big energy. From the buzz of the Winter Street Festival to the Sounds of Jazz and Blues filling venues across town, Kiama's events calendar consistently feels bigger than the place itself.
Our Kiama Coast Walk from Minnamurra to Gerringong is less about ticking off the 20-plus kilometres and more about soaking up the journey, with dramatic views and scenery that slows your pace whether you plan it or not. With wildlife encounters of seals, stingrays, sea eagles and between May and November, humpback whales keep pace with you.
Art is woven into Kiama's local streetscape too, from murals and artwork appearing in unexpected places to the Kiama Sculpture Walk along the harbour foreshore, creativity sits out in the open, perfectly complementing the view.
Our markets are another big drawcard. Whether it's the weekly farmers' market at Surf Beach or monthly craft markets at Black Beach, Gerringong and Jamberoo, they're never just a quick stop, rows of stalls showcasing local produce, makers and flavours invite you to linger.
And of course, the beloved Kiama Blowhole never loses its magic. This iconic natural attraction has wowed generations of visitors, and no matter how many times you've seen it, you'll still find yourself waiting for that next unforgettable whoosh.
Voting takes less than 30 seconds and it would mean the world to our local businesses and community if we can pull off a tourism hat trick, solidifying Kiama in the NSW Tourism Hall of Fame.
