We're seeking your feedback about how you like to receive and interact with Council information, how you like to stay informed, and the effectiveness of our communications channels.
We're using this information to update our External Communications Strategy, and your feedback will guide our communications practices to help us effectively communicate information to the community.
We know that:
- Different people want different things. Some like to be across everything Council is doing, while others only want updates on what directly affects their street or neighbourhood. Both perspectives matter, and this is your chance to shape the mix of information you receive.
- People access information in different ways. Not everyone feels confident online, and some residents use accessibility tools such as screen readers, hearing loops, or magnifiers. We want to make sure its communication is inclusive, accessible and works for everyone.
- Local news is harder to come by now local papers are no longer printed. That's why we're taking a closer look at how we can best meet the community's information needs with the resources we have.
Your input will guide what we should do more of, and what we could do less of, so our communication best meets the needs of our community. Our 'This Week in Bayside' e-newsletter was launched because of community feedback in 2019 - so your feedback makes a difference.
It's easy to take part, simply:
- Complete the full survey online or pick up a copy at Bayside Libraries or the Bayside Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham
- Look for the shorter reader survey in the October/November edition of Let's Talk Bayside.
We are giving away prizes for people who participate. Complete a valid survey and you can go in the draw to win one of five $100 vouchers.
The consultation closes 30 November 2025.
